The Most Precious Thing In My Life…?

When I think of the most precious thing in my life, I automatically think of my family. They are the thing I care about the most. I don’t know what I would do without them. If they all disappeared at this very moment I would crying, praying that they would come back. The one most important thing is them. My mother, my father, and my 4-year-old brother.

My mother is a great person. I can go to her for anything. She always helps me with my problems and helps me learn from my mistakes and her mistakes. I can tell her everything about anything. She teaches me all the vaulable skills that I am going to need in life. Even though I can get on her bad side, which isn’t the prettiest thing the world, I know that she will always be there for me when I need it the most.

My dad is the best. He graduated at the top of his class, had all A+’s in every single class (that I know of), and has a Ph.D. He is a smart person and has motivated me A LOT. he encouraged me to play the piano, and now I can’t stop playing. He always told me to go for my dreams and do what I think is right. When he wants something, he will go for it, no matter what happens as an outcome. I know that I can get him angry and frustrated at me. But, what are “Daddy’s Little Girl” for. We make mistakes and we dream big; it’s what we do. Without my dad and my mom, I don’t know what I would do.

My brother, a tanturm all the time. Sometimes he cane drive me up a wall with all of his whining, crying, asking, etc. Though, he has been a great addition to my family. He was born in 2004 and is learning everyday. I want to influence his in a positive way. I don’t want him to make any foolish mistakes that I did, because trust me, I make A LOT of mistakes. He learns many things from me, like skills and how to read and write, and who the Jonas Brothers are. If I ask him who the Jonas Brothers are he will say, “Kevin, Nick, Joe, Jonas Brothers”. I know it’s not a vaulable skill to know that but, hey, now he knows who they are. He loves to dance and play with his trucks and sharks. Big fan of sharks, big fan, big fan. He is a great influence, he keeps me structurally sound even though he can be a pain in the neck, but that’s what little brothers are for.

I couldn’t live a day without my family, that’s why they are the most precious thing in my life.

What Do You Think The U.S Means?

When you sit in class, when you think of the “United States Of America”? asked this question to kids all over the world what they thought. Lets see what they think about the United States. Their opinions could be different!?!

High School… AHHHH!

glitter-3.gif

OMG! Only soon will many people be going into high-school and I will be shaking with fear as students walk through the hallways of high-school. Over the years I have heard that high school is like a bee in a field with a bunch of elephants (Wow, that would be FUN). Meaning that you are like a small person in a group of bigger & meaner teens around you. I have heard so many things about high school such as the jocks are really rude and pick on everyone, there are so many “clicks”, and that your first day is really rough, the seniors and juniors pick on you if you do the smallest thing. I would go on but, then the post would be so long it would need a second page. What I am trying to say, pretty much is that it is a zoo. With lions, cheetahs, monkeys, bugs/insects, and other creatures, and depending on what group you are in, depends on what animal you are. What are the fears I fear the most? Are there things that seem to make high-school less scary?!?

Fears… Big Fears… HUGE Fears… GIGANTIC FEARS! (In Random Order)

1.) Bullies (including Jocks, Populars, Seniors, Juniors, and etc.)
~ From what I have heard… That you really, and I mean really don’t want to get involved with the people above or get near them. They have their own little bubble in which they are in and try to avoid them or you will end up like road kill that gets run over every single day.

2.) Classes (All classes)
~ From I am told… most schools have a very limited time to grab your things from your locker and get to your next class. Though, with all the traffic and the people in the school it is really hard to get your things and GO! I could really use the advice on how to handle this things. I, in paticular have to juggle 3 honors course, many elective, sport and other activites, family, friends, etc. How am I supposed to handle this. I am going to have NO life, at all. Zip, Zero, Zilch, Nada, Nothing. All the stress of going into high school just will weigh down on my shoulders and they will feel like 100 pounds. OMG!

3.) Teachers
~ Everyone has heard “Your first impression is always the most important” (hopefully). Since I have never met the teachers at the high school, I have no IDEA, CLUE, or anything to which they are strict, nice, or in between. I really don’t want to make a bad impression on my teachers and start off with a bad foot?!? Ahhhh, so hard and annoying !!!!!!!

As you probably see that I have a lot of fears and questions on the topic of high school and I really could use your help. Give me and others advice on what you think that I should do. Also tell me about your problems or your thoughts about high school. :)

The Celebration

glitter-with-flicker.gif
I have a dream that my four little children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their skin but by the content of their character.
“I have a dream that one day this nation will rise up and live out the true meaning of its creed: We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal.”

The speech that changed everyone, white and black. Though, what did this man do to make a celebration after him? Why does the country close down for this man? What is the point to MLK day? The one man that would rise up, take a stand for everyone and join us all together, no matter who we are. He was Martin Luther King Jr. This man showed us no matter who we are, we should ALL be treated equally.

Question~ Why do we celebrate Martin Luther King and why does the country close down?
Answer~ The reason we celebrate Martin Luther King is because he was one of the few people that changed out progressing country in the Civil Rights Movement. Celebrating his achievements and honoring his memory. Right after he was assassinated his birthday was automatically made a holiday. He spoke out on different issue that he cared about, such mlk.jpgas the all important segregation and that blacks were not getting the same privileges as white, and this really bothered him and he took action and went for his dream and the more he fought (peacefully that is), the more he succeeded, and the more people started to listen to him and trust him as a leader, friend, and a role model.

Question ~ What is the point to MLK day?
Answer~ In my personal opinion, I think MLK is just a day to celebrate the great leader that turned this country around and to celebrate the great achievement of our nation. Bringing everyone together, no segregation, separation, and a balance in our country. Having the great “I Have A Dream” Speech out for everyone to think that with one desire, one dream, & one goal, who knows what the country can achieve?
Let’s just find out for ourselves! :)

Music… Conveying A Message

glitter-2.gif
Music…Music…Music. Listen to it very closely. Listen to the rhythm of the song, and the words, word by word. Have you every listened to a song with such powerful lyrics? Many songs that are are usually slow and not party music have a strong message are deep reasoning to the words.
I was sitting in my bedroom and listening to my iPod while doing my homework. Music keeps me very mellow and keeps me busy while completing my homework. My parents don’t really allow me to listen to music while working on all-the-right-reasons.jpgsomething important but, between the readers I listen anyways. As I was saying, my recently added music was… Teardrops On My Guitar sung by Taylor Swift, When You Look Me In The Eyes sung by the Jonas Brothers, and Photograph sung by Nickelback. These are actually slow and admiring songs. As I work, strangely I can analyze songs very quickly and I can understand the words much better than if I am listening just for the fun of it. At the time that I bought Photograph, I closely listened to the song and it tells about the singers’ life where he grows up and when he goes to school and didn’t graduate. As he says …

“And this is where I grew up, I think the present owner fixed it up. I never knew we’d ever went without, the second floor is hard for sneaking out. And this is where I went to school, most of the time I had better things to do. Criminal record says I broke in twice, I must have done it about a half a dozen times. I wonder if it’s too late, should I go back and try to graduate. Life’s better now than it was back then, if I was them, I would’t let me in.”
“Every memory of looking out the back door, I had the photo album spread out on my bedroom floor. It’s hard to say it, time to say it. Goodbye, goodbye. Every memory of walking out the front door, I found the photo of the friend that I was looking for. It’s hard to say it, time to say it. Goodbye, goodbye.”

Later the lyrics are…

“Remember the old arcade, blew every dollar that we ever made. The cops hated us hangin’ out, they say somebody went and burned it down. We used to listen to the radio, and sing along with every song we know. We said someday we’d find out how it feels, to sing more than just the steering wheel.” And it goes on from there.

The singer later sings about photographs from his photo-album and the memories that it brings back and all the times he looked out the back-door and walked out the front-door. In this song, he conveys from a simple photograph, all the connections to his life when he was younger.

Another song that I really admire and adore is When You Look Me In The Eyes sung by the Jonas Brothers. This song, in my opinion tells about the love between two people, explaining that you search for that special someone and they really have a passion for each-other. Also the great bond that it in a great relationship and the love two people have for each-other, and when you look them in the eyes you both fall into place. Some of the lyrics are…

jonas-brothers.jpg“If the heart is always searching, can you ever find a home? I’ve been looking for that someone, I can’t make it on my own. Dreams can’t take the place of loving you, there’s gotta be a million reasons why it’s true. When you look me in the eyes, and tell me that you love me. Everything’s alright, when you’re right here by my side. When you look me in the eyes, I catch a glimpse of heaven. I find my paradise, when you look me in the eyes.”

I really like this song and it has a very mellow and calm rhythm and tempo and I think that a lot of people would like it. As you can  music, if you listen closely does convey a message or a deep meaning and those are the songs that are the most interesting than stupid songs that have explicit language and stupid exploitation of people and objects.

My Top Ten Songs (In Random Order) That I Think Have A Deep Meaning

1.) When You Look Me In The Eyes (Jonas Brothers)
2.) Photograph (Nickelback)
3.) Teardrops On My Guitar (Taylor Swift)
4.) How To Save A Life (The Fray)
5.) Hey There Delilah (Plain White T’s)
6.) Tattoo (Jordin Sparks)
7.) One In A Million (Hannah Montana)
8.) Welcome To My Life (Simple Plan)
9.) No One (Alicia Keys)
10.) I Miss You (Miley Cyrus)

The Essay/The Idea

glitter-11.gif

lab.jpgI had just recently watched a video entitled “The Essay”. I thought the video wasa very good video/commerical and touching to me. This video is about a little school girl who writes an essay for her class, and she writes about a device that can fit in your pocket, with a small screen, and is able to send messages and pictures through the air, and more. Her classmates laugh at her, though her teacher brings her to other people to listen to her essay. As I was watching this video, I thought that on little girl, with one small idea, can have so many people listen to the one thing that could make the world an easier place to live and more innovative. Some people may thing during that time the it might be impossible to invent such a complex thing such as the device that is now described as the cell-phone. There are things, such as “hover-cars” or cures for diseases such as the different types of cancer. Those things might not be discovered now and might be found or invented through the year of 2008. Though, since we do not know what the future has in store for anyone at the present moment, but it is no crime to think of what things that can be made within the next couple of minutes or within the next couple years, or decades. There is no telling on what could happen in the future. Though what we can seek into the future by inventing until we discover new ways of transportation, fuel economy, cures, and other planets and galaxies. All we have to do is think, believe, and in the future, we can achieve.

Live Blogging With Candidate James Vumbaco

Today, we had candidate James Vumbaco who is running for mayor of our town come in with us and let us ask him various questions. Here are some of them:

Question 1.) What skills or abilities do you feel students should have in the 21st century?

College education is  very important and education is not always the biggest thing. Kids should also be able to have various skills.

Question 2.) What type of technology is innovative?

Opportunity to use the Internet. I think that is the beginning of what could happen. Learn to live with people of different diversity

Question 3.) Do you believe that it is more effective to use book, pencil, and paper or technology is more effective?

Doing the work is the most effective thing, I did not have calcutators when I was growing up, the world is changing and many assignments done on computer. There are many technological advances. Too much technology in the future, would start to replace pen and paper, which both is effective

Question 4.) Do you think there is too much of a cost to have lots of technology in schools?

There is a long way to go though, technology is an aid to the school. You must do basics in traditional method also and have will power to go forward. Tired of it sometimes and this gets away from personal life.

Your Own Influence

Glitter_9.gif

Piano.jpg

The biggest influence, other than my parents is my old piano teacher. She was one of the nicest people I have ever met. She was my first piano teacher and she taught me a lot of which I have learned about piano. She gave the basics and then she made progress into very serious & challenging music. She helped me progress in my music and now she is a teacher at a Florida University. I give her the credit for teaching me the music skills I have learned and progressed. She, herself is a great piano player with much talent. She has motivated me so much to continue in the musical arts, such as piano, choir, and our school musical. Musical classes have been a “snap” since I started piano, and my teacher deserves to be recognized in here musical talents.

I Wonder…

I wonder where everyone will be in 20 years. Will we be the generation that discovers a cure for cancer or invent the newest and coolest technology. Will we be the ones to stop the golbal warming and save the enviorment or will we be the ones that destroy (and yes, I mean destroy) the earth and maybe, just maybe create the next ice-age. Wull be the one’s that come together to stop the war on terror or will we be the one’s to put the world in World War III? I wonder what will become of me in the future? Where will I end up… At Choate or Andover, Harvard or Yale, a lawyer or doctor. There are so many things that I wonder about, they all connect to the future. There is no telling what the future has in store for me, my brother, and the rest of the world. Where will my friends be? Will they forget me? Will I ever see them again? Will these things ever happen? The better question is, what do you think will happen? Just wait, you make the future your way, how ever you want. Tell me how you would make it and what kind of things you wonder about, for example… Why is the sky, blue and the grass, green?
